Building Inclusive
Communities
ABOUT BIC FOUNDATION
Building Inclusive Communities. Creating Opportunities. Changing Lives.
The Building Inclusive Communities (BIC) – Sure Starts Foundation is a registered non-profit organisation in Tanzania committed to creating a society where every individual has the opportunity to learn, thrive and contribute. We believe that inclusion is not simply about providing access—it is about creating opportunities, restoring dignity and empowering people to reach their full potential.
Through partnerships, advocacy and community-led programmes, we work to build stronger and more inclusive communities for children, young people, women and families.
To promote inclusive education, protect the rights of women and girls, and create sustainable economic opportunities that empower individuals and strengthen communities.
Our Focus Areas
We believe every child deserves access to quality education.
Our work supports:
- Early identification and intervention for children with special educational needs.
- Inclusive learning environments from early childhood through adolescence.
- Teacher training and capacity building.
- Educational resources and assistive learning materials.
- Vocational and life-skills training for young people with disabilities.
One person's waste can become another person's opportunity.
Our recycling and upcycling initiative transforms reusable materials into products that generate income while protecting the environment.
Funds raised directly support SkillForge Vocational Training, helping young people with special educational needs gain practical skills, build confidence and prepare for independent living and meaningful employment.
Together, we are creating opportunities while caring for our planet.
Strong communities begin with empowered women and girls.
